Keeping your Bluetooth and HP laptop connected

If you're looking for a quick and easy way to update your Bluetooth or HP laptop drivers in order to keep them connected, you've come to the right place.

But first, what's a driver? When we refer to a "driver" in the computer or tech world we are referring to a piece of software. There are millions of drivers out there and their purpose is to connect your devices to your computer so everything works as it should. In a nutshell, they manage your built-in components (e.g. graphics cards, audio drivers, monitor in the case of laptops, trackpad) and plug-in devices (e.g. external monitors, mouse, keyboard, printers, cameras).

That's why they are so important to maintain. Since drivers are software, they need to be updated whenever a device manufacturer releases a new version. They do this to fix bugs and make general improvements. Today we're going to let you know how to download new drivers for Bluetooth devices because these are so prominent these days.

There are different ways to update your Bluetooth drivers depending on the specific device and what operating system you use. The good news is, you can actually update all of your drivers at once by using a driver updater tool which we'll talk about later in more detail. Driver updater tools automate the process for you, making it a simple experience. If you're interested in how to manually update a driver though, we're going to use an HP laptop as an example (plus, let you know how to get HP drivers updated for you, in case you'd prefer the easier way).

Download driver: Bluetooth instructions

Bluetooth is now a way of life for many of us. Common devices that use Bluetooth to connect to your computer include printers, a wireless mouse, mobile phones, speakers, and keyboards. It has been a great invention to help strip away all those annoying and sometimes hazardous cords (or at least some of them).

It may be time to update your Bluetooth drivers when you can't connect a Bluetooth device and get the dreaded error message that your device cannot be found, it connects but isn't configured correctly, or your computer recognizes the device but says it can't start. Whatever the issue is with your Bluetooth device, check your drivers are up to date because this is an easy problem to fix.

Download driver: laptop HP instructions

Here are the instructions for how to manually download Bluetooth drivers for an HP laptop in Windows (although if you're looking for a quicker and easy way, we recommend you download everything together, which we'll go on to explain):

  1. Search for and open the "Device Manager"
  2. You'll get a list of devices and you should see those that are available under "Bluetooth"
  3. Right-click on the device driver you want to download and update under Bluetooth and choose "Update Driver"
  4. Click on "Search automatically for updated driver software"
  5. Follow any further instructions that appear on your screen
  6. Restart your computer and the updated driver should now be installed

Download everything together!

As we mentioned at the start, there is a quicker, easier and safer way than updating drivers manually, using a driver updater tool. This will allow you to find any drivers that need updating in one go. That includes Bluetooth drivers and any others that are out of date (e.g. could be your graphics card or more).

This tool comes as part of our CCleaner Professional package, so you can take full advantage of all our award-winning PC cleaning and optimizing features at once. This will tune your PC, speed it up and help boost your online security.

You can try CCleaner Professional for free for 14 days. There's no need to enter any card details so if you don't want to keep using it after the trial period there is no obligation. Why not try it today and see how many drivers you need to update, plus start cleaning up your PC so it is as fast as possible.
