Mobile phones: the nation’s new BFFs?

Last month hailed the launch of O2’s #newnormal campaign which demonstrates how intrinsic mobiles have become to our day-to-day lives.

As part of the campaign O2 recently released its Mobile Life Report which reveals how our phones are changing the way we live and our now close relationship with them.

According to the study, the millennial generation (those born from the early 1980s to around the 2000s) were found to have the most love for their mobiles. Almost one in ten revealed he or she would rather allow a friend to share his or her toothbrush or bed than his or her phone. One in three 18-to-24 year olds stated they couldn’t be without their phone for even a day.

Although not quite as inseparable, phones are also essential to the day-to-day lives of older generations, too. The study found that across the population as a whole, one in five people couldn’t last a single day without their mobiles.

The study is a reminder of how important it is to take care of the nation’s favourite device. During their day-to-day use, mobiles process hundreds of GB’s of data whilst users browse, WhatsApp, take videos, track fitness levels and use any number of apps. As with any machine, continuous use leads to problems unless looked after properly. The typical outcome of a mobile’s ‘essential’ status is a surprisingly quick build-up of junk files.

As a result of mobile clutter, Android users will likely face slowing and freezing whilst using their devices and (most frustratingly) will run out of space unnecessarily. Fortunately, these issues are easily prevented. Running an optimisation tool like CCleaner for Android removes junk, reclaims space, monitors the device’s system and allows users to browse safely. Frequently removing temporary files will create enough space to save hundreds of photos. If that sounds good but a no-effort ‘set and forget’ mode sounds even better, the Professional version includes a scheduled cleaning feature so with one click, devices stay clean and fast - forever.

If you want to inject some instant speed into your Android, you can download CCleaner on Google Play.
